Project Description

The Client

Thomson Roddick Scottish Auctions began in 1886 and is one of Scotland's leading independent firms of Auctioneers and Valuers with salerooms in both Edinburgh and Dumfries and an office in Fife. From these grass roots, beginnings in livestock sales and eventually, estate agency and building surveying, the firm progressed to become one of the leading independent auctioneers of furniture, fine art and antiques.

Brand Development

We at Hoggett Creative had been working with TRSA for a number of years when we were asked to take a look at their brand logo and image. We created an updated look, feel and style by extensively researching and finally settling on a new typestyle and icon. The largest development was introducing a new corporate blue colour. Everyone felt that the old green was dated and all too frequently used within the industry.

Graphic Design and Print

With the nature of their business we are in a position to help by offering a quick turnaround service by producing their auction sales flyers and catalogues. Knowing when an auction is we are able to book a slot in the studio to artwork, print and deliver within 24/48 hours. We are also able to supply the exact required amount of flyers, limiting the need for waste. Unlike litho print when a minimum 1,000 would be ordered with a turnaround of 5 days to delivery.

We have worked on many projects for Thomson Roddick over the years: from stationery, NCR sets, half yearly pocket calandars and banners through to newspaper adverts. Constantly working on their brand awareness is key to this project.

Website Design and Development

We designed and developed a new Content Managed System (CMS) site with a complex back-end system, but with a user friendly interface. At time of launch they were spending a whole day adding auction lots and images. We managed to cut this to less than an hour. Since the site was launched we have made further developments, their antique & collectors sales now link to an external supplier of live auction data. As a result of consistent development they experience an average of 20,000 unique hits per month.

What they said...

Thomson Roddick Scottish Auctions have worked with Hoggett Creative since 2009. We are delighted with the service received. Both the design and quality of print is excellent. Simon is very approachable and responsive to new ideas and suggestions.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Hoggett Creative.
